GRADESS

GRADESS, a Graphical Discrete Event System Simulator - User Manual

Thomas Riedel

GRADESS is a traffic simulator. It is written in Smalltalk and is object-oriented, henceforth. The underlying data base is relational. It can be extended by adding new objects to the existing infrastructure (as they are the data base and the simulation engine). The report presents briefly the basic ideas of the simulator. But mainly it depicts the operation sequences for the graphical input of the topology, and how to influence the simulation.

GRADESS is part of a project for controlling thraffic intersections; its main task is to simulate traffic situations. With these, a controller (in another computer) can be tested for correct functionality.
