Fast Data Access

Fast Data Access by a Relational Data Structure with Object-Oriented Behavior

Thomas Riedel

When one wants to use a relational data model for storing graphical data, it is necessary to have fast access methods for all mutual dependencies of the elements. Therefore a suitable relational data model is presented using also ideas from object-oriented programming. With some examples taken from the CAD-interface of a simulation program, the problems are demonstrated an solved. A prototype of the data base descriped is used for GRADESS, a simulator for traffic systems.
